The Dompierres-Bequincourt Cemetery is located near two villages captured on 1st July 1916 on the opening day of the Anglo-French Somme Offensive.
It contains 7,033 casualties, including 5,362 in individual or collective graves. Four ossuaries contain the remains of 1,671 unknown soldiers. Those casualties includes many colonial soldiers and French Foreign Legion.
