The inaugural North East Baseball league final was held at the Gosforth Sports Association ground on 1st October 2023. It featured both of the Newcastle Nighthawks baseball teams, the Wings and the Talons.

The Wings opened with two runs, with the Talons responding with a run to trail 1-2. The Wings edged in to the lead with 5 runs, however, a grand slam gave the Talons the lead for the first time, the score at the end of the inning being 7-5 in the Talons favour. An inning that ended with a double play, catch at third base and a throw to second base putting two batters out in the same play.
The scores stayed within 1 run over the forthcoming innings, and it was the two final innings when the Talons secured the game 14-10.
