Op Normandie - Bayeux Cathederal

The original cathedral of Notre Dame Bayeux was dedicated in 1077 in the presence of William the Conqueror. The Cathedral was used to display the Bayeux tapestry. It was destroyed in 1105 during a civil war between the sons of William. Reconstruction commenced quickly, initially in a Romanesque style, though in the mid 12th century it adopted a gothic style. It would continue to be built and developed for nearly 500 years.
