New York 2019 - Irish Hunger Memorial

The Irish Hunger Memorial is dedicated to those lost in the Great Irish Famine 1845 - 1849. Over 1,000,000 perished when the potato crop failed with devastating effect on those already at subsistence level. The effect of the famine resulted in large scale migration from Ireland, many coming to the United States.
