A service of remembrance was held to remember the Northern Gunners who had lost their lives in conflict.

The wintry weather precluded the service being held in the planned location of Tynemouth Priory, and the proceedings were moved indoors to the Tynemouth Army Reserve Centre. The Commanding Officer and Regimental Sergeant Major of 101 RA laid a wreath at the Gunner Memorial in Tynemouth Priory after the service.

In 1482 Leonardo da Vinci ended his first period in Florence and went to work for Ludovico II, Lord of Milan. Despite being opposed to war as being a 'most bestial folly', da Vinci outlined his capabilities as a military engineer to Ludovico II by stating ' I shall create various and infinite things for attack and defence as circumstances dictate' .
